Our New "Temporary" Home

I know I am running way behind on blogging, but give me some time and we'll get caught up! Now that I was FINALLY able to get my hubby to help me hang pics all over the house, I wanted to post some pics of where we are living. I know we'll only be here until March, but call it nesting or whatever you want...I just gotta make my house a HOME and well, pics do that for me :)
Anyway, we still love where we live and I even clean every once in a while. HA! I do love having carpet though, I was so sick of wood floors after living in Driggs I could have screamed. We will never again have wood, tile, etc. in our living room or really anywhere but the kitchen, bathroom and entry way. It was too much and I could not keep it clean...nightmares are coming back to me. ha,ha We rent from our neighbors, who is coincidentally our bishop as well. They were friends of friends to us and they are great people who are actually only like MAYBE 5 years older than us and a couple of kids ahead of us. It's been really fun and they just re-did the entire house and did a great job. He owns a stucco business and so of course, it is all done in stucco.
Here is the front of the house...We have a huge backyard, but the grass is brand new this year and it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes, so we have yet to really be out there much, but here is the scenic side...There are even two fruit trees, one cherry and one apple. We already picked all of the cherries right after we moved here, but the apples are a little slower coming and we'll see if there are any left after the birds and squirrels have their pick at them.On to the inside--these will be totally out of order, but just go with it. We'll start with the living room. (Complete with Haddyn watching her favorite....Mickey Mouse!) We left a lot of furniture up at Scott's parents when we moved because we knew it would be temporary and we just didn't have the room in this house, so you'll notice the entertainment center looks quite a bit smaller and the T.V. perhaps a little bigger, but don't be fooled, it's the same ol' 20 incher! Scott is still holding out for the bigger one though....Here is Haddyn's room. It is so full of toys and the cradle right now. She will be getting her own big girl bed in a couple of weeks and the crib will move to the other side for Stetson, so we'll have to do some rearranging. It is complete with the new curtains I made for them because our blinds keep people's eyes out, but not the sun so Haddyn wouldn't nap.As I was kneeling on the ground measuring, cutting and pinning material I kept thinking to myself..."Why do you always do these things when you're pregnant and cannot even bend over???" Well, nesting is a real thing people and for some reason mine manifests itself in a very creative way. Oh well, they turned out just fine. They are neutral and dark, the two things we were looking for to buy but apparently they don't exist for this size window. They are brown with little pink, green, blue and yellow dots. We just bought a crib set for Stetson that is a pretty blue, brown and camel microsuede, so it should match just fine! Here is a close up.On to our bedroom, the only incomplete room in the house. If it looks like the room is basically big enough for our bed and nightstands, that's cause it is. The dresser is against the opposite wall where I am standing, but I'm not really sure how we'll fit the cradle in there yet. I LOVE my bed though and I just couldn't store it, Scott SHOULD take that as a compliment, but I think he takes it as a pain in his side that I made him move it. Oh well, I've been a bigger pain in his side before :)Bathroom--pretty self explanatory, but very well lit with a big window and roomy. I likey. This is the hallway from the bedrooms and bathroom to the living room and kitchen, or vice versa. The closet has the washer and dryer in it. I am not going to post the extra room, everyone knows what a few shelves of movies, a chest freezer and a lot of storage looks like. Finally, here is the dining room/kitchen area. It is a little cluttery, but at least all of the stacked dishes are clean! So, that's pretty much it. I did want to post a couple of funny pics that took place today. Apparently Haddyn is just in one of "those" moods today. She found my make-up bag and then the mirror and mascara within it. She has seen me put this on quite a few times. She did pretty good really, don't ya think? She actually did get quite a few eyelashes and no eyeball, so we'll call it closer to a hit than a miss! She only decided she'd better get Mom's help when it was all over her hands and she HATES dirty hands, so there ya go. There is one more of her with her chef's hat on with lunch. She came out of her room wearing it and insisted it accompany her with lunch...very cute. She's a funny girl!

Very cute :o) And your curtains turned out great! I still can't believe how big your backyard is!

I'm with you on the hardwood floors. The ONLY advantage is how easily spit-up wipes off of it.

But for carpet, I'd be totally willing to spot-treat the spit-up.

It looks great! Good job, guys!

Nesting a new place makes me tired. Good work, you.

Hey I love your temporary home! It looks like it fits your needs perfect and it is so cute! You really do get into the whole nesting thing, when we moved next to you guys you always had something you were making! I felt like such a slacker the whole time living next to you! Fruit trees are the BEST! We actually have two fruit trees out front (just little guys) and I hope they provide us with some good fruit in the next couple of years!
