Holy Life Passing Me By!!!

I wish I had a good excuse for totally slacking on posting the last 5 months. Oh wait, I have 2...no wait, 4!!! Seriously though, I just really try to keep my head above water here and do the best I can and blogging usually isn't included in that. It should be, but has not been. I have a lot of really close friends having babies in the next 1-3 months and I have been super busy on baby gifts in my spare time. I can't really share any of them, because some of you are readers and that would just spoil the surprise now wouldn't it???
The last month has been filled with sickness of all varieties passed through every member of our family and back again. Stets has been the most recent and he is currently recovering from a nasty, nasty ear infection and borderline pneumonia. What's borderline? Well, from start to finish he started with a low grade fever on Thursday, one day after I noticed his 2 year molars had broke through. By Saturday he had a nasty chest cough and by Monday his fever was up in the 102's constant and he (we) did not sleep a wink Monday night so Tuesday we went in to the Dr. fearing an ear infection. He temp was 103.7 upon arrival and he was NOT a happy boy. It was a wrestling match for Dr. Graham and I to get a visual of his ear drum, which was unrecognizable from a blister recently popping. Poor guy!! The Dr. couldn't hear any fluid on his lungs, as well as he could listen so he felt confident chest X-rays were not necessary, but he did not feel confident with his fever and cough that it was not headed very quickly in that direction. So, we were prescribed Omnicef instead of Amoxocillin to get both. Boy was he a happier guy just by that evening. I know this sounds like I am a horrible mom who held off too long, but seriously, in my defense he is a very happy boy all of the time and it is really hard to tell when he is that sick. Also, you should know I take my kids in to be checked almost at the first sign of sick and 9 times out of 10 I leave with a $60-$90 bill of "Its a virus, keep an eye though." The boys are now dealing with the chest cough and Scott and I are in turn NOT SLEEPING. It sucks!! I would say it nicer, but there is nothing nice about it. I am only posting right now because they are actually sleeping and I have to wait a bit to pump again before bed. Hang in there with me or read this in parts, because I'm warning it's going to be a hella post. As in hella long. : )
Speaking of the twins...let's update them first...
Case and Crue hit the 5 month mark on Sunday the 18th!!! Big boys! They are now rolling over both directions and becoming more and more mobile. AAAHHH!! I am planning on constructing a circular gated area in my living room to assist with this issue. I think I can find what I need at PetSmart. HA! Seriously though, I am really working on a circular gated keep little kids and toys in, big kids out situation. Wish me luck.
Case is still our little mover and shaker.
His 4 month stats from his appt. were 12 lbs. 11 oz. 24 1/2" long and head circumference of 16". He is just under 25% on everything. He rolled over almost a week before Crue did and he is definitely in a bigger hurry to get the heck outta dodge than his little bro. He is SUCH a smiler and is happy, happy almost all of the time. Just DON'T delay this kids food, because he has patience like his sister, which means they don't exist in his little body :)
Crue is a happy boy too, but a more chillaxed happy kinda boy. He has a wide mouthed smile and LOVES to cuddle. He is so much like Stets has always been. His 4 month stats were 13 lb. 2 oz., 24" long and head circumference of 16 1/4". I think he is closer to a full pound heavier than Case at 5 months. He is so thick! It is seriously like having a Stetson and a Haddyn at the same time...Case is totally skinny and petite "ish" like Haddyn was built and Crue is more thick and wide and "full" like Stets was.
They have just started to notice each other and make eye contact and talk and smile for small amounts of time. Case is still the beater and Crue will still try to latch on to any part of skin that he comes in contact with on Case. I don't know if it's the fact that he nurses and Case doesn't, so he doesn't care about sucking on skin, but it is sure hilarious. You'll hear sucking and look down and poor Case has matted hair and Crue is just working so hard to get latched on his head. HA!!! Maybe that is why Case likes to rip Crue's eye out or give him a fish hook from time to time. I'm sure this brotherly love will only get more and more "loving" over time.
I have some other stuff I'd like to blog on, but my time has run out. I have dishes to do before pumping and it is after 11. With my total of 3 hours of sleep last night, I am not about to extend this night any longer than necessary so I'll be back soon.....
I promise!
